My followers know I never make political posts, but in this case it’s particularly important.
We get the government we deserve. If you don’t vote, then you let someone else make the decisions for you. If you don’t vote, then you have no right to complain about any leader, any political action, any right taken away from you, or any economic downturn.
Please vote, and PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. Each election, Rebecca and I spend an hour or so reading the ballot initiatives, reading the For and Against arguments, and looking at who is behind them. You can’t believe biased TV commercials which are sponsored by warm-fuzzy sounding political action committees, like “Committee for Happy Squirrels” which is really a front for the fur industry. We have one in Colorado now named something like “Partnership for Protecting Colorado’s Environment”—and it’s really run by the oil industry to increase fracking and remove safety regulations. DO YOUR RESEARCH. (Rebecca and I don’t always agree, but we make up our own minds.)
Study the candidates’ platforms and what they stand for. If you are only watching one news network, you are intentionally wearing blinders. Decide what kind of America you want this to be, and vote accordingly. But please vote. If you don’t vote, I don’t want to hear about it.
