Orbit has released a striking new design for the mass market paperback release of the first Terra Incognita novel, THE EDGE OF THE WORLD. I really like it—dramatic and catchy, it makes use of the main elements of the original trade-paperback cover. The paperback will hit the bookstore shelves on April 21. ProgRock Records, the label that released the Terra Incognita/Roswell Six rock CD as a companion to the novel, has just pointed out some very nice spontaneous fan videos set to the music. I just learned this afternoon that my novel ENEMIES & ALLIES -- the first meeting of Batman and Superman during the Cold War -- has won the Project Fanboy award for Best Comic Related book 0f 2009. I loved working on that book, and I am very pleased to hear such favorable fan reaction. The award will be presented at MegaCon in Orlando, FL in March. For several months now, behind the scenes, we have been working hard to redesign and revamp the Wordfire.com website. When I was starting out, I submitted dozens and dozens of stories to various magazines and anthologies. At one point, I had 30 different manuscripts in the mail to different markets. I always wondered what went on in the slushpile when an editor would pick up the stack of envelopes from that day’s mail, and how my manuscript was treated among all those other clamoring submissions.
